What she’s teaching me about TRUST
And he said: “Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. Therefore, whoever takes the lowly position of this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven. (Matthew 18:3-4, NIV)

I can not begin to describe the lessons my sweet daughter, Madison, has taught me thus far and the lessons I have yet to learn from her…
When Madison wakes in the morning she waits for me, expectantly, patiently. I’m her mother and she knows that I’m going to come for her in the morning, she no longer cries when she wakes because she trusts that I’ll be there, she stands in her crib and she waits, patiently, for me to arrive and provide for her needs. She smiles when she greets me because she’s so happy to see me, yet again, at the start of her day.
Imagine if we had this approach with our heavenly Father. Knowing that he comes for us in the morning as He is the One who wakes us each day. No worries, no anxiety, just trusting in Him and waiting patiently for His will, His plan, to manifest in our lives, each and every day. To be filled with joy as we seek His face each morning, knowing that He’ll be providing all of our needs! What a powerful lesson to be learned from a child! I suppose it is due to situations such as this that we are called to be like children. So, as much as I desire that she learn from me, I am taking it upon myself to glean as much as I can from her as well, as directed in His word!
What is your child teaching you about Trust?!?
Meet this month’s amazing sponsor:
Yhis is a powerful message Nicole. Well stated!! Love you guys.
What a beautiful reminder of our Lord's presence in our daily lives! What a great way to wake up each day…she is too cute!
Oh how I love this. And it is so true. We should always know that He is there for us and be patient in all things. Thank you so much for this, Nicole.
Such an amazing lesson to learn from your daughter! I don't have children yet, but I look forward to the day that I can learn from them, as we, as mothers and mothers-to-be, strive for our children to learn from us. Thank you so much for an amazing post!
xoxo,
Brianna
What a truly beautiful lesson. I have never even thought of it in that sense but how true it is!
Love this and an awesome reminder! We are in the stage of disciplining our kids as they are learning right from wrong. To me, it teaches that we can embrace correction from the Father (God) and become better people or oppose it and become stagnant in our spiritual growth and life journey.
You shared this beautifully. Simple and so very true. Great!
This is so touching. As a mother, I feel that we often need reminders like this to keep everything running smoothly. I am glad I stumbled upon your cute blog. Thanks for sharing and I look forward to your posts in the future (now following!).
Love from Washington State!
