I was watching 7th Heaven yesterday and there was a scene in the beginning where a man was trying to offer the mom, Annie, a job selling her extraordinary muffins in his shop. She declined saying that she was too busy. She was at home raising five children (Sam & David were yet to be born). She said that she was too busy in front of two of the children and they promptly asked — “Busy doing what?!?”
The mother’s expression was that of shock, of course. Raising children takes so much work and does indeed keep a mother rather busy, stay at home or not! That doesn’t mean that one’s children understand all that a mother does for them.
So it is my prayer that as I and my child(ren) get older and they make such remarks that have the potential to sting, unknowingly of course, I hope that I’ll take the time to remember that they may never truly know the magnitude of my sacrifice and the time I put in with them. At least not until they have children of their own :)!
I loved that show!
Me too, Dara! I've been watching the GMC network lately and they've been playing old shows like Touched by an Angel and 7th Heaven!
I love that show. It never comes on. luckily I can see them on guidebox.com and youtube. I just may watch some tonite. Thanks for the idea.
They were playing it back to back on the GMC network on Mother's Day. It's such a good, wholesome show! I miss shows like that on television!
I used to love that show!!! My son will pull on me like, "mommy do this or that". He doesn't understand that I may have worked 8+ hours and that I'm exhausted. Being a mother is definitely a sacrifice but it is such a blessing!!
Me too, AJ, and you're so right a blessing and a sacrifice all at once!
This is such a sweet photo! Haha, I never got into 7th Heaven, but I do like Jessica Biel!
I love this photo, Vanessa! She just laid there playing with the ball while I was reading, then it hit me, I must capture this on camera, ha!!!
You totally missed out on 7th Heaven, such a good show and Jessica Biel has been awesome ever since!
