Have you switched everything over to Bloglovin’ yet? With the end of Google Reader the use of Bloglovin‘ has become all the craze! I wonder if the two are affiliated (Google and Bloglovin‘), you never know with this kind of stuff. But enough with my conspiracy theories I usually try to keep those thoughts to myself for fear of no longer being taken seriously.
The whole point of this post was to let you know that you can find me on Bloglovin‘ {here} and to let you know that I’m seriously considering removing the Google Friend Connect (GFC) option from my blog as a way to follow along. Hopefully, it’s finally hit the masses that Google Reader and GFC are NOT the same thing. I’m simply thinking about removing GFC because I believe it will eventually become obsolete and I’m learning that my page views carry much more weight than my GFC count.
Besides, I’d much rather have 100 followers who comment consistently than have a thousand followers with not one reader in sight. So, making sure that you follow me via Bloglovin‘ is more about making sure you have an easy way to read and stay up-to-date with my blog, especially since you can put blogs into different categories. I have a “Daily Reads” category for all of the top blogs I follow on Bloglovin’ so that I don’t miss a post from my favorites! It just makes staying tuned in that much easier!
So I hope you’ll continue to follow along and share your thoughts on what I have to say. I’m obsessed with your comments and can’t thank you enough for the support you’ve shown thus far in my blogging journey!
“I am stumbling through my military life and in the process, discovering my place in the world.”
I've already been following you on Bloglovin so we're good there! I removed the GFC widget a while ago. I don't like how when people click on your blog it's the first thing they say. I prefer people to look at content over "that number"!
Same here, Ashley, you're in my daily reads category :)! And I agree I think GFC can be such a distraction!
I've never been a huge biggy on google reader.. I guess because when I first started to become a blogger Blog lovin was already a hit. I love blog lovin! & yes, I'm a faithful follower of yours on BL dear friend. 🙂
I guess you can call me old school because I just bookmarked all the blogs I like and kept up that way up until I discovered Bloglovin'. I just never really liked the setup of Google Reader!
And thanks so much for your support, Heather, it means so much!
I agree! We want readers not followers. I've been thinking of getting rid of that widget too. It's like having a scale on your blog except typically with GFC you always want the number to be higher!!
Exactly, Cece! And I find myself looking at it way more than I should when I visit my own page and others as if its a true measure of anyone's readership!
Already following on Blog lovin. Can't miss a one you know. Love you guys.
Aww thanks so much Hattie! I just love your support!!! See you on Friday :)!!!
thanks for this post. i am so confused with this whole thing. is it different from blogspot.com? is it easy to make the switch or will you lose all your content? thanks and happy summer and 4th!
Yes, Obi, Bloglovin' is different than blogspot.com. Essentially it pulls all of your posts from blogspot and puts it in an easy to read format. It basically does exactly what Google Reader did, just called something else. Hopefully, that makes sense. There is nothing to switch at all, if you go to blog loving and search for your blog name once it comes up it'll ask you if you want to claim this blog and you can just go from there! Let me know if you have any other questions, dear! Happy holiday as well :)!!!
Following you bloglovin'! and that picture is the cutest 🙂
xo,
Angela
Yay! Same here, of course! Thanks a bunch, Angela!
