A few weeks ago my husband put down some grass seed, and he’s been watering it daily ever since. It’s like his new child. We can’t walk on it, sit on it, touch it, and I even try not to look at it. But recently, I actually did look at it. Like really looked at it. And what do you know? It’s growing! There is this pretty, fresh green to it too. Nice. Beautiful. Lush. Grass! How exciting!
On my way to work yesterday I got to thinking about that darn grass and how it’s easy to get into the mindset that perhaps the “grass is greener on the other side” of whatever (i.e., a divorce, a job, etc.). When in all actuality grass is the greenest where it is watered, tended to, cared for…I could go on. I can’t pretend that I didn’t already know this. We all know this. But oh how forgetful this flesh of ours is, right?!
Now that I’ve been reminded, yet again, it’s time to apply the lesson of the grass to my life with my husband and, I don’t know, water him or something…day after day :)!
Love this way of thinking!! Funny how even grass can be inspirational. : )
LOL @ water him and all that that implies! #speaktruth
OMG He must have been listening to my husband!!! I won't even look at ours LOL ) Take care and as usual ~~Love you guys!!!
You put a lot of thought into that grass LOL
It's so true though, I've heard that my whole life!
We are in the process of doing the same thing to our lawn! I love your thoughts. I also want to thank you for the blogger tidbits you've shared on your blog. I am in the process of trying to make my blog into more than just our family journal, and it feels overwhelming. I have definitely found myself comparing my beginning to everyone else's middle (to borrow your words), and I appreciated your reminder that it takes time to build something worthwhile. So thanks!
We need to tend to our own yards! I know it, but oh how I forget it. Thank you for the timely reminder.
