I’m a runner.
At least that’s what I’m starting to tell myself.
I’ve been doing the couch to 5k program, with a small group from Victory Church, and it’s quite misleading. If you think you can get up from your couch having never truly been somewhat physical at all then you’re in for a rude awakening. This program is tough! We’re on week five and by the end of this week we’ll be running for 20 minutes without stopping. I don’t feel that I’m ready for that, especially after missing all of last week, but I’m going to give it my best shot.
By the end of the nine weeks we should be able to jog a 5k in 30 minutes. So we’re planning to do just that. My first ever 5k and I have high hopes of running the whole time.
I keep telling folks that I’m doing a 5k in November like it’s several months away. Ummm, it’s next month. Like six weeks away on November 22nd. Just a week prior to Turkey Day.
Perfect, right?! Just in time for me to indulge the following week :).
And the end of the year is fast approaching, is it not? I feel like I’m behind on something. Like I should actually be running around Christmas shopping, or putting up some sort of decorations, or planning out my holiday menu.
Anyone else feel like this year just flew by?!? It must be because I’m getting old…er.
Well, at least my body won’t show it. You know, since I’m a runner and all.
