This quarter is practically over, and I’ve been feeling a bit overwhelmed. I need a break, a real break and I need it desperately. With that said, we’ll spend some time talking about traveling plans next month to get us into vacation mode, but before we say goodbye to March let’s talk about all the good that made up the third month of the year.
National Reading Month – March is National Reading Month but we celebrate reading all year long around these parts. Maddie is incredibly animated when she “reads”, and she tends to draw large crowds :).
Duck Donuts – My coworker brought in the best donuts I’ve ever tasted in my life a couple of weeks ago. As a foodie, I can assure you that this is a fact. Find a store near you. Stat!
Ballet – Maddie is officially in preschool. Her Spanish class is longer, their cutting down her nap time (oy!) and she’s at the perfect age to start dance. Prepare yourselves for the ensuing cuteness!

Pizza – I discovered turkey pepperoni the other day. No, for real! It’s by Hormel and I found it with all the other pizza ingredients in Target, of course. It cost ~$4.50 to make our homemade pizza, and the fam’ loved it!
Women – March is also Women’s History Month and International Women’s Day occurs on March 8th each year. Without a doubt women ROCK! Need I say more.
Rescue – I don’t sleep well so the discovery of RESCUE was quite awesome. Between reading, tea and sleeping aids I should feel more rested. The problem is actually heading upstairs to bed though. *shrugs*

Lemonade – So y’all know we eliminated all drinks in our home except water and milk, right?! Yeah, that. Well, I made some fresh squeezed lemonade the other day that I should probably get somebody on Shark Tank to support. I’m just saying. But seriously, did you hear about the 10 year old that received a $60,000 deal on Shark Tank for her lemonade business, BeeSweet Lemonde. Talk about life goals.
National Nutrition Month – As if this month wasn’t already packed with national this national that (as all months are, actually), it’s also National Nutrition Month. As the health-conscious “chef” in our home, I enjoyed sharing my thoughts on the subject this month here and here.
Learning – Maddie is soaking up knowledge at this age. It’s been fun to watch her grow and take on new challenges. I think we might have a perfectionist on our hands so I’m carefully teaching her that’s it’s okay to make mistakes and ask for help.

So fill me in, what did March look like for you and yours? Anything fun, interesting or new take place?
March was pretty busy around here. Soccer started again. Even though I'm well aware with how the season goes I am always somewhat surprised when we have to be up and out of the house early on Saturday mornings. Saturdays just feel different. I got to wrap up some of my own projects this month. I'm looking forward to April and I am praying that it's just as good as the months that came before it.
