Use Capital One‘s Auto Navigator to pre-qualify
for auto-financing prior to visiting an eligible dealer.
As Mario and I continue to talk through how big we want our family to be I can’t help but think about how many children can fit into our vehicles. As of right now, Madison and Morgan fit comfortably in my Ford Edge and make do in Mario’s Ford Focus. Madison is in a booster and Morgan, at almost five months old, will be in a car seat for quite some time. No one can ride with us when we’re all together without being squeezed in. But, even beyond that we are thinking about more kids. Not just one but at least two (because I have this weird thing about having an even number of children — judge me not)!
Ultimately, every since we found out we were having Morgan I’ve been toying with the idea of upgrading my crossover to an SUV with a third row. I specifically have my eyes set on either a Ford Explorer or a GMC Arcadia but we need to ensure that we’re fully prepared for what I consider to be a big purchase. With that said, here is what needs to be done prior to upgrading:
- Set a budget — Determine how much you can afford and do not go over budget, even if you qualify to receive more.
- Save — The more money you have available for the down payment the better.
- Use Capital One’s Auto Navigator to see if you pre-qualify for auto financing and research vehicles.

The Capital One Auto Navigator sounds like a great tool for when you need to shop for a car! I never heard of it, until now. I also agree with your steps needed prior to upgrading 🙂
Thanks so much, it's definitely a useful tool!
I'm a few years away from an upgrade but this information on the Capital One Auto Navigator sounds helpful. Will bookmark this post for future reference. 🙂
This seems like an awesome tool to use! I think theres definitely a lot of planning that needs to be going into upgrading your car & down payment
Nice! I just recently got my car but this would help so much when I need to upgrade!
I had never heard of this auto navigator tool before reading this. Having bigger car really does help make life a little easier when you have kids. Especially on those days when the rain is poring and you can hop in to the back behind the kids to buckle them in with out getting wet. This was very informative, thanks.
Ooh I am looking to get a new car next year and will definitely be using this tool to see how much money I can get financed
