Disney | Dining Experiences

During our trip to Disney we visited three of the four parks.  Each park was so unique and offered something different in terms of activities and that was also the case when it came to food. We ate good throughout our time at Disney so I wanted to share some of our favorite dining experiences.

While in Magic Kingdom, we really enjoyed the character meals that we had there.  The first day we visited the castle to attend Cinderella’s Royal Table and celebrate Madison’s 5th birthday.  While at this event we enjoyed the Pan-Seared Chicken, Beef & Shrimp, and Mac & Chz with fruit for the girls.

While in Magic Kingdom, I also suggest visiting Gaston’s Tavern to taste LeFou’s Brew coupled with a warm cinnamon roll.  Also, the Crystal Palace has the best buffet at Disney.  We did a character breakfast there with Winnie-the-Pooh and friends on our last day.  Between the all-you-can eat breakfast including omelets, pastries, fruits and an assortment of meat, plus a fun-filled dance line with the characters during the meal, it’s a must-do!
Our second day at Disney was spent at Epcot.  We had lunch at a place called the Coral Reef Restaurant which had a life-size aquarium that wowed me and the girls.  The aquarium is home to 4,000-plus sea creatures, and it was so cool to sit and enjoy a meal as sea turtles, rays, sharks and other underwater animals swam by.  We had the Shrimp & Grits, 10-oz Grilled Top Sirloin Steak and the girls had Fried Fish with Broccoli and Fries.

While in Epcot, I highly recommend stopping by Karamell-Kuche (i.e., Caramel Kitchen in German) to try their signature caramel popcorn.  Also, stop by L’Artisan des Glaces to enjoy some of the best ice cream in the parks!  Epcot, is definitely the place to experience a variety of food and drinks from different “countries”.  So come to this park prepared to get eat ’til your heart is content.

One thing I want you to keep in mind is that the food at Disney is overpriced.  Hopefully, you already knew and understood that to be a given, but it’s worth mentioning anyhow so that you’re careful to budget for it appropriately.  Know that even though you’re going to pay a pretty penny, you should not expect gourmet meals.  Will the food be good? Yes. Will the presentation be nice? Definitely.  Will the atmosphere be top-notch? Of course!  So accept the food for what it is and be sure to enjoy every bit of the experience, because that’s really what you’re paying for.

As always, Live Fully
